COMMUNITY UPDATE– This morning, June 5, 2024, the City of Dayton, Kentucky met with Republic Services (the City of Dayton’s vendor for trash and recycling) and have notified them of complaints we have received over the last several weeks concerning missed pickups, debris left in alleys, etc.
We were informed that Republic is experiencing some staff turnover in the last few months. This staffing change has impacted their efficiency. They relayed to us that they are actively working on hiring and have filled some of their job vacancies in the past two weeks.
Due to how the City contracts with Republic (a city-wide contract instead of individual contracts), they do not have the contact information for individual property owners. This prevents them from being able to let you know why, or if, your pickup is delayed or missed. To mitigate this, the City now has a form on our website that will allow you to sign up for notifications from Republic Services. This contact information will be sent to Republic and will be updated in their system. The form can be found here: https://daytonky.com/residents/garbage-pickup/
Another option for additional information is to visit Republic Services website and entering your address here: https://www.republicservices.com/schedule
If you have a complaint about missed pickup or anything related to trash or recycling, you can contact Republic here: https://www.republicservices.com/contact-us or by calling 877-692-9729.
The City would like to take this opportunity to remind all residents that Republic Services is a third-party vendor. The City of Dayton does not receive updates or notifications concerning individual property’s pickup status. Calling or using the links above will be the best, and quickest, way to receive the information needed.
