The Dayton city staff and City Council members recently toured the historic Burton Building (aka Rayme Building) at the northwest corner of Sixth Avenue and Berry Street. The four-story, 137-year-old brick building is being rehabbed by Orleans Development through a partnership with The Catalytic Fund of Northern Kentucky and the City of Dayton.

The company plans to spend about $2 million to develop a high-quality, mixed-use building that will feature commercial space on the first floor and 10 loft-style apartments on the upper floors. Demolition work at the building is nearly complete and new construction is expected to start soon.

Below are photos taken by Code Enforcement Director Cassie Patterson of some of the scenes and mementos we saw during the tour.
