Duke Energy is now asking approximately 1,200 Dayton property owners to participate in its Neighborhood Energy Saver program in city neighborhoods that meet federal family-income guidelines. You may have received fliers, mailings, or personal visits about this program, which runs from January to May.

“This program offers free products and services as well as education programs to help property owners save energy, save money, and improve their quality of life,” Dayton Mayor Ben Baker said. “We are excited that Duke Energy is offering this program to our residents and we hope that qualifying community members take advantage of this program.”

The Dayton neighborhoods included in the program are located in roughly two areas: 1) between the Ohio River levee and the CSX railroad line and between Walnut Street and Mary Ingles Highway at Doyles Drive, and between 8th and 10th Avenues and O’Fallon Avenue and Vine Street. See maps of these areas in this post.

The program offers 16 energy-efficient products and installations, an in-home audit to determine if your home may qualify for additional energy-efficient products, and education efforts designed to promote behavioral changes for further increased savings, and other Duke Energy programs that also may help reduce and/ or manage your energy usage.

A Duke Energy auditor will evaluate whether a customer may qualify for additional energy-efficient measures, including attic insulation, air sealing, duct sealing, and smart thermostats for even greater savings.

Among the products and services available through the program are:
• Heating and cooling: HVAC filters, window AC covers, digital switch plate thermometer, door sweeps, and caulk
• Water heating: water heater insulation blanket wrap, water line pipe insulation, and water temperature check/adjustment
• Lighting: standard LED bulbs, candelabra LED bulbs, and standard globe LED bulbs.

If your property is located in one of these Dayton neighborhoods and you want to schedule a visit from one of Duke Energy’s auditors, please call 855-227-2940.

Duke employees providing services in Dayton will be driving Duke Energy-branded vehicles and wearing Duke Energy badges with their names and photos, yellow safety vests, and blue Duke Energy shirts.
