PUBLIC NOTICE: During the August 2024 Council Meeting, the City Council passed Ordinance 2024-11, an ordinance regarding the removal of animal excrement in the City of Dayton. This is in response to the numerous complaints about animal waste being present in public parks and greenways.
- Every pet owner is responsible for their animal and its waste. All owners must remove and dispose of animal waste immediately in a public or private waste receptacle.
- The ordinance allows members of city staff to enforce this ordinance with the power to write a citation to the violator.
- The fee for being in violation of this ordinance is $100 for the first offense and $250 for every violation thereafter.
- The City of Dayton is now selling dog waste bag rolls for 50 cents per roll. You can purchase anytime during our business hours. (Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Thanks for keeping our city clean!
